Mauricio Pochettino is already hard at work to further improve the Paris Saint-Germain roster he inherited from Thomas Tuchel. The new boss is said to be contemplating signing one or two stars that he had worked with while in charge of Tottenham Hotspurs but the focus is on Christian Eriksen.

The Danish midfielder moved to Inter Milan in January 2020 but struggled to find the form that saw him shining in the Premier League while under Pochettino. Eriksen is currently regarded as an Inter outcast and is lined up for an exit, possibly this January.

His departure from Italy could lead him back to England but if the rumors are correct, Eriksen's next landing spot points to France. Pochettino is in the process of beefing up the PSG side, and for the new boss, the name Eriksen immediately comes to mind.

The Argentine is toying with the idea of reuniting with his star playmaker, and according to The Daily Mail, the PSG boss has reasons to believe that Eriksen will be a big boost for the Parisians.

Pochettino and Eriksen saw unforgettable moments while working for Tottenham. When the Spurs challenged for the Premier League title in 2016, the Danish was among the key players that powered Pochettino's squad.

The 28-year-old further shone when Tottenham reached the Champions League final in 2019. It seemed that even as Eriksen saw a dip in form while in Serie A, Pochettino remains convinced that his former top playmaker can still perform if given the chance.

Per the same report, the PSG boss is also considering Dele Alli, likewise with the Spurs, as a January signing. But getting Eriksen to Parc des Princes appeared to be the Argentine's priority.

That's mainly because Alli is reportedly not available for a deal, as far as Jose Mourinho's side is concerned, while Eriksen is all set to move away from Italy. There are talks that Premier League sides such as Manchester United and Arsenal are looking to sign the star but he is said to be more inclined to a stint in Paris.

Also, the Italians are making it easier for PSG to acquire Eriksen. Recently, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed that the playmaker is on the way out and will be part of the club's January transfer list.

According to Marotta, Eriksen failed to make an impact with Inter and keeping will only lead to further "dysfunction." Somehow, this was backed by team manager Antonio Conte, who rarely deployed the player this season.

"I am at the complete disposal of the club and any decision they make on the transfer market, so there's nothing else I can do," Goal reported Conte as saying. He added that Eriksen's fate is all up to the Inter leadership.
