Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank's short stay at Frogmore Cottage last fall continues to be wrapped in a mystery, with some suggesting that the pair might have been prompted to leave because the house is actually haunted.

Podcast hosts Roberta Fiorita and Rachel Bowie of Royally Obsessed said that it was quite a surprise to learn that Eugenie and Jack moved out of Frogmore within six weeks of moving in. Fiorita said that no one really knows why the Brookbanks suddenly changed their plans, except that this could be Eugenie's actual arrangement with Prince Harry, who received the house as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth.

On the other hand, Bowie said that she's speculating the house is haunted because the tabloid coined Eugenie and Jack's departure from Frogmore as "mysterious." However, Bowie agreed that Harry might have known the Brooksbank couple's plans in advance because there were also reports stating the arrangement between the royal cousins was "not unexpected."

Fiorita and Bowie said that Eugenie might be missing life in London, so she decided to return to the Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace. This has been the York princess' home since she married Jack in 2018.

Meanwhile, Frogmore Cottage is empty again, with Eugenie and Jack opting to stay in Kensington. Before this, the five-bedroom house was vacant for many months since Harry and Meghan Markle left for the United States.

The Grade II listed house was originally built in 1801 for Queen Charlotte and her daughters. Over centuries, Frogmore Cottage was home to many important people in British history. Abdul Karim, the private secretary of Queen Victoria, lived in Frogmore Cottage with his parents. The Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia also made this place her home when she was exiled from her kingdom.

The house was converted into apartments during Queen Elizabeth's reign, but when Harry and Meghan were given the space, they decided to turn the property into a four-bedroom home with a nursery for Archie.

Stories abound that King Henry VIII's ghost and the wife he ordered to be beheaded, Anne Boleyn, make their presence felt at Frogmore Cottage. While the existence of ghosts hasn't been proven, the house is supposed to be near the Royal Mausoleum where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert have been laid to rest. It's also quite near the burial estate of the Queen's uncle, King Edward VIII, and his wife, Wallis Simpson.
