Chinese game developer miHoYo promised "Genshin Impact" players that it will regularly update the game by regularly introducing new characters through gacha banners. Hu Tao is rumored to be one of the featured characters that might arrive in the game via update 1.3. While miHoyo has not yet announced anything about Hu Tao, players can start collecting essential items ahead of the character's release.
Who is Hu Tao in "Genshin Impact"
Based on the game's lore, Hu Tao is the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and the boss of Zhongli. Very little is known about this character, but the majority of the characters that know her speak negatively about her. While she is not yet available in the game, players can already farm items that can ascend her as early as now.
Hu Tao Ascension Items
An updated graphic on Reddit reveals that ascending Hu Tao's talents requires Nectar-themed items, Diligence talent books, Shard of a Foul Legacy and three crowns. To ascend her level caps, on the other hand, players must find a mix of Agnidus Agate, silk Flowers, Juvenile Jade and Nectar-themed items. So, where do players go to find these items?
For the Crown of Insight, it is mainly obtained via events like the Chalk Prince and the Dragon or the Unreconciled Stars. At present, players can get this by increasing the level of their Frostbearing tree to Level 11. Hu Tao requires 18 Shadow of the Warrior to max out her talents when players reach Talent Level 6.

To get the Shadow of the Warrior, players need to defeat Tartaglia in the Enter the Golden House Trounce Domain when they reach Level 70. This becomes available after players complete Chapter 1 Act 3: A new Star Approaches. Players can challenge the domain one every week to farm the Shadow of the Warrior.
Hu Tao also needs nine Teachings of Diligence, 63 Guide to Diligence and 114 Philosophies of Diligence. All of these can be obtained from the Taishan Mansion domain in Jeuyun Karst, Liyue. Players need to unlock Adventure Rank 26 to gain access to the domain. To secure drops, players should visit the domain every Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday.
Apart from those, Hu Tao also needs Whopperflower Nectar, Energy Nectar and Shimmering Nectar to improve her character. All of these are dropped by killed Whopperflowers. The Shimmering Nectar is dropped bu Whopperflowers at Level 40or higher while any slain slime can drop the Whopperflower Nectar. Energy Nectar, on the other hand, can be obtained after killing Whopperflowers Level 60 or higher.
