Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will be embracing another life-changing event in mid-February when she's due to give birth to their first baby.

Sources told Hello! that Eugenie's due date is drawing closer, and she has been "nesting" at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's home in Frogmore Cottage at the Windsor grounds. The five-bedroom house is a short distance away from the mansion of Eugenie's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duke and Duchess of York.

Baby Brooksbank will be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's ninth great-grandchild after Archie Harrison, Harry, and Meghan's son. According to the insider, it was Harry who told his cousin and her husband to move into Frogmore Cottage since it's a lot bigger than the Ivy Cottage, the Brooksbanks' home in Kensington Palace.

Eugenie and Jack revealed that they were in the family way in September 2020 with a photo post on Instagram. The couple has been married for two years and dating for nearly a decade before they decided to expand their family.

Sources at the Palace said that the Queen was delighted about Eugenie's baby news. However, it's unclear if the monarch will be able to see the baby in person a few days after the birth, even if she's just nearby. Queen Elizabeth has been isolating at Windsor Castle since October with Prince Philip, and they have had their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Meanwhile, Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie said that Eugenie and Jack spent the holidays cooped at the Royal Lodge with the Duke and Duchess of York. This was after they spent six weeks at Frogmore Cottage in October last year.

Eugenie and Jack's abrupt stay at the home of Harry and Meghan drew various speculations. Some royal observers thought that the Brooksbanks left because Frogmore Cottage could be haunted by ghosts, while others thought that Eugenie's arrangement with Harry and Meghan had no permission from Queen Elizabeth.

Scobie also said that Eugenie and Jack have plans to stay at Prince Andrew's home "until much later in the year." This suggested that the Brooksbank pair might be planning to raise their baby at Eugenie's childhood home. However, the latest report suggested that the York princess is back at Frogmore and has been making herself comfortable and ready for the birth of the baby.

Eugenie's child will become the 11th in the line of succession to the British throne, but the baby will not have any royal titles since his father is a commoner.
