MacGyver season 5 episode 6 picks up the aftermath of Jack Dalton's (George Eads) death in episode 5. There have been a lot of questions surrounding the character. Now, it was revealed that he died during an undercover mission while hunting for the world's most dangerous terrorist, Tiberius Kovac.
Some of the characters are still be dealing with the death of the Phoenix Team member in MacGyver season 5 episode 6. The fifth episode featured a military funeral service from him, with his colleagues paying tribute to the character.
Yet, Jack leaves a mystery that needed to be solved. He left a fail-safe letter, prompting the team to go to an apartment in Zagreb. A symbol similar to the Eye of Horus leads Mac (Lucas Till) to the safe, where he found the picture of a smuggler known as Tibor.
The crew was able to locate Tibor, who claimed that he and Jack were close friends. Then, they used him as bait to get Kovac, who's delivering fake passports. They captured him and they rescued Riley (Tristin Mays) and Bozer (Justin Hires), who were both imprisoned.
Beyond that, MacGyver season 5 episode 6 will deliver lighthearted stories. In the sneak peek, Mac is seemingly celebrating that Codex has been taken care of -- at least as of the moment. But, that doesn't mean there's no problem coming for the crew.
The title of the upcoming episode is "Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance." The current timeline of the series is set in the post-pandemic, but this week's storyline will dive back into the early days of the global health crisis.
The synopsis notes that the COVID-19's first stay-at-home order forced Mac, Riley, and Bozer to quarantine together. However, things go sideways when one of their neighbors was put in danger. They must stop a crime in progress before it's too late.
This episode will show how these characters live and do their job during the time of the pandemic. Since certain protocols need to be followed, their ways of saving people might be different compared to before. This mission is going to be challenging for all of them.
Also, MacGyver season 5 episode 6 sees Russ (Henry Ian Cusick) feeling delighted as his friend Sofia arrives in town. His romantic takes a longer turn now that they quarantine together. He's happy they're spending more time together, but the situation eventually becomes complicated.
MacGyver season 5 episode 6 will be airing on Friday, Jan. 22, on CBS.
