Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina and their team will continue with their journey in finding the Money Pit in The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 12. In the previous episode, titled "Rocky Road," they dig even further to find more clues and evidence surrounding the serpent mound.

In The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 12, the fellowship still focuses on the secrets behind the mysterious structure. The serpent mound has been one of the major discoveries of the Laginas and the rest of the team. They've been analyzing it for quite some time now.

In episode 11, it was speculated that the serpent mound might have been filled with "spoils" from the Money Pit. Despite that, the crew continues with their excavation, hoping that they could find more clues surrounding the valuable treasure.

Meanwhile, Gary Drayton unearthed something which he believes to be "gold." He's been using his metal detector to strike gold within the area and found another item in the previous episode. He initially thought that it's an item from the Money Pit, but it was just an item painted in gold.

Another focus in The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 12 is the excavation in the swamp. The team has been trying to solve the mysteries of the possible stone structure. They suspected it to be a roadway, which might be connected to the sea.

The fellowship digs deeper to find out whether or not the swamp is holding more secrets than they previously thought. While the Laginas and the rest of the team found unknown structures in the past, they're still looking for more evidence to confirm that the treasure is buried in the island.

The title of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 12 is "Digging Their Heels In." According to the synopsis, the team searches for the spoils excavated within the area of the Money Pit. At the same time, Alex Lagina found evidence and traces of human activities dated back to 1492.

The team already found different clues that might be connected to the Money Pit. Aside from the mysteries under the swap, they unearthed old coin which could belong to Chinese people. Heavy industrial activity was also suspected to occur on the island after finding oxen trails.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 12 airs on Tuesday, Jan. 26, on History Channel.
