The search for Money Pit has been the major focus in The Curse of Oak Island season 8. Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina and their team have been attempting to unearth the speculated treasure over the past years. Their journey continues and they won't stop until they dig the valuable items.

The fellowship found some important clues during the early run of The Curse of Oak Island season 8. In the first few episodes, they found an old coin and they suspected it to belong to the Chinese people who worked on the island during the 900 AD.

Shortly after that discovery, they found oxen trail and believed that they were used to transport the Money Pit on the island. They strongly think that heavy industrial activities may have occurred across the area. In episode 11, Gary Drayton thought he found "gold" -- yet it was nothing but gold paint.

Gary has been using his metal detector device to find clues that could point them towards the Money Pit. Apart from finding this "gold paint," he was also the one who unearthed the old coin with a hole at the center -- which could belong to the Chinese.

Beyond these discoveries, the Knights Templar theory has been part of The Curse of Oak Island season 8. The Laginas and the team focused on it in season 7 and their investigation continued in the current installment. The theory was further fuelled when Erin Helton interpreted her Zena Halpern's map.

Helton said that the boulders were "strategically placed" and they're possibly pointing on to something. She told the fellowship that they may have been digging the wrong area all along. She suspected that the spot of the Money Pit wasn't in a tunnel. Yet, they still need to re-assess the situation.

The swamp was the major point of excavation and the digging continues. The fellowship searches for its depth to find out whether or not it is holding more secrets from the past. In fact, they believed that the stone structure may have been a roadway, which is connected to the sea.

For the next episode of the treasure-hunting reality, the Laginas and the team continue to search for the spoils excavated within the Money Pit's area. Alex Lagina, on the other hand, may have likely found traces of human activities that were dated back to 1492.

The next episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 is titled "Digging Their Heels In" and it will be airing on Tuesday, Jan. 26, on History Channel.
