Chinese game developer miHoYo is sticking with its promise of regularly releasing content to "Genshin Impact." In Dec. 2020, the game unlocked the Dragonspine region that introduced the new Sheer Cold mechanics. Recently, miHoYo confirmed some of the features arriving in the game via Update 1.3, including a free four-star character, a new event, a new boss, several mini-games, and a lot more.

In a recent livestream, "Genshin Impact" developers shared some interesting details that players could look forward to in Update 1.3. Dubbed as "All That Glitters," the update is scheduled to roll out in the game on Feb. 3. It features a major in-game seasonal event called Lantern Rite Festival.

During the event, players can assist the locals in Liyue on their preparations for the festival. They can also attend the grand ceremony on the first full moon of the year. As the highlight of "Genshin Impact" Update 1.3, the event is divided into several stages.

Players who can complete these stages earn an event-specific currency, which they could use in the event-specific shop. They could exchange these currencies for Experience Books, Character Ascenscion Fragments, Dust of Azoth, or Mora. Moreover, the event features a new tower defense mini-game called Theater Mechanicus.

Based on the trailer, the mini-game allows players to craft and upgrade various towers using different mechanics and elements. Waves of enemies will attempt to pass through the path, and players must prevent these foes from reaching the end of the path. Apart from this, there is a new event called "Stand By Me." this is a special event that enables players to get their hands on a free four-star character.

"Genshin Impact" players who were able to complete the special event can choose from the available roster of four-star characters. This includes Chongyun, Siangling, Xinyan, Beidou, Xingqui, and Ningguang. The game developer has not yet revealed the details of the tasks players needed to complete in this special event. However, players should expect that those are going to be a little bit challenging.

There is also a new boss in "Genshin Impact" named Primo Geovisha. He is enormous in size and seemingly a more powerful form of the Geovishap Hatchlings. Interestingly, this new boss is capable of shifting between various elements. On top of those, miHoYo also made several changes to Experience Ley Lines and Mora.

With "Genshin Impact" Update 1.3, Mora and Experience ley Lines get a 2X boosted drop during the first collection. Players can spend 20 resin and get 2x the usual output, which is a substantial factor, particularly for those grinding to ascend their characters.
