There are lots of interesting things happening and scheduled to happen in the hit gacha game "Genshin Impact." Chinese gaming studio miHoYo announced these and several other details at a recent live streaming event. It also announced that players will be able to get a free character through the event called Stand By Me.

"Genshin Impact" Stand By Me Event Launch Details

The new event in "Genshin Impact" is sone of the many events that will arrive in the game with the release of update 1.3. The Stand By Me event is scheduled to start on Feb. 18 and will end on Mar. 17. Players should use this ample time to enjoy the event and complete all its tasks.

What is the Stand by Me Event in "Genshin Impact"

In the "Stand by Me" event, players are required to complete several tasks. After completing all the tasks and clearing the event, players will be qualified to pick a 4-star character of their choice. However, unlike the character banner, the redemption banner for those free characters is different and will not rely on the Wish system, RNG, or Primogems.

So far, miHoYo teased several characters that players could get for free through the Stand by Me event. This includes Xiangling, Beidou, Xinyan, Xingqui, Chongyun and Nigguang. Getting top-level support characters like Chongyun and Xingqui is tough. Even the DPS character Beidou is a touch character to get because of the RNG rates. Having the chance to get them without the need to depend on sheer luck is crucial in building the players' dream team.

Aside from the Stand by Me event, another event is coming to the game at an early date. Dubbed as the May Fortune Finds You, this event starts on Feb. 11 and ends on Feb. 26. It is a log-in event similar to Seize the Day event. Players can log in for seven consecutive days in the game to get Intertwined Fate.

"Genshin Impact" Update 1.3

According to miHoYo, "Genshin Impact" update 1.3 will launch on Feb. 3. The main feature of this update is the official release of another playable character Xiao. The content will also introduce the Lantern Rite Festival, which requires players to complete the Xiao quest first before they could participate in the event. Fans are also looking forward to more details about the incoming update aside from the anticipation of seeing the release of Hu Tao in the later stage of the update.
