Better Call Saul season 6 will serve as the final installment of the AMC crime-drama. The series has encountered a series of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the official release date remains uncertain until now. Despite that, fans have been getting updates on what lies ahead in the story.

Instead of having the usual 10-episode run, Better Call Saul season 6 will consist a total of 13 episodes. This brings the series to a total count of 63, which is equal to the total combination of the sequel series Breaking Bad and the 2019 movie El Camino.

There are a lot of stories that needed to be covered in the final installment, especially since most arcs were hanging up in the air. For instance, the ending of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/ Gene Takovic's (Bob Odenkirk) story. There's also a concern on where Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) is in the future.

Speaking to Deadline, Odenkirk discussed how will Better Call Saul season 6 comes to an end. While he didn't provide further details on what's coming, he teased that something significant is about to happen. He said that there are "certainly exciting moments" coming and "it gets super supremely intense" in the end.

Jimmy's future is in question here, given that it has been teased that his storyline isn't heading to a happy conclusion. He might get punished for all of the things he did in the past. The things he learned being Saul might also be explored. His Gene persona was the one affected the most, as well.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Peter Gould discussed some of the questions that must be answered in Better Call Saul season 6. He made it clear that it's not about what's going to happen to Jimmy -- but more of what's a deserving ending for him.

Gould said that the fitting ending for the character is either love or death. The latter seemed to be where the arc is heading since a lot of characters died within this world. Yet, there's a possibility that he finds redemption despite everything he's done.

As for Kim, the biggest concern here is that she's heading on a dark path in the fifth season and this could put her in grave danger. Some suspected that she died since she hasn't appeared in the Breaking Bad timeline. Also, she was never mentioned by Gene, suggesting that something happened to her.

Better Call Saul season 6 is slated for a 2021 release.
