The Curse of Oak Island season 8 has been on hiatus for two weeks. The reality treasure hunting show is set to return this week, with an episode titled "The Fellowship of The Ringbolt." Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina and their team made another major discovery that potentially brings them closer to the Money Pit.

Since the premiere of The Curse of Oak Island season 8, the fellowship has been trying different methods and strategies to find the location of the treasure chest. Throughout their journey, they've already unearthed clues that possibly direct them to the valuable items.

In "The Fellowship of The Ringbolt," the team will make further investigation surrounding the mysterious island. According to the synopsis, they will follow the "trajectory of the mysterious stone pathway in the swamp." While doing this, they uncovered an elusive piece of Oak Island lore.

Also, Gary Drayton believes he may have found a clue suggesting that there's a nearby treasure. Previously, the metal detector expert found an item that looked like hold -- but it was later revealed it's just gold paint. Despite that, he's still determined to make further investigations in the area.

The Laginas and the team have been trying to understand the secrets surrounding the island as they're convinced the Money Pit was buried there. The swamp, in particular, becomes the major site of excavation in The Curse of Oak Island season 8.

They discovered a stone pathway in the swamp, which could direct them where the treasure chest is. The team also found unusual artifacts, including a serpent mound and oxen feet. It further ignites their belief that those who resided on the island centuries ago were aware of the Money Pit.

In the first episode, they found an item in the murky depths, which they suspected to be gold. The team sent a diver down to find out whether their speculation is true. The diver found a coin-like object, but it slipped through his hand. It plunged deeper in the water and they weren't able to investigate what it is.

The fellowship shifted their focus when Erin Shelton told them that they may have been digging the wrong area for the valuable items all along. She said that she knows where it could be, so the team excavated more. However, they didn't find a tunnel and she revised her theory once more.
