While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle share their exciting second baby news, one member of the royal family, Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Harry's stepmother, was left out of celebrations.
Royal fans noticed that Camilla's name wasn't specifically mentioned in the official royal family congratulatory message for Harry and Meghan's baby news. Sources now say that the name "Camilla" will definitely not be in in the mix for baby names, should the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a baby girl.
According to royal correspondent Ashley Pearson, Harry has been bent on naming his daughter Diana, after his beloved mother, the Princess of Wales ever since Meghan's first pregnancy. Like Prince William, Harry is determined to keep their mother's memory alive and, if possible, include her name for their children.
William named his second child with Kate Middleton as Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and Pearson said Harry might also use Diana, either as the first name or the second name for his new baby. It's no surprise, however, that the name Camilla is not a choice for Harry and Meghan, given the history between Prince Charles' first and second wife. Though Harry's devotion towards his mother is also uncontested, sources also said Camilla and Harry's relationship is warm.
In an interview with BBC, Harry, then 21 years old, said that Camilla is not the wicked stepmother, despite what the public might think. The Duke of Sussex said that his father's second wife is a "wonderful woman" who has made Charles a very happy man, which is more important for Diana's boys.
Harry also expressed that he and his brother love their stepmother "to bits" and they have been close to her since they first met Camilla. Charles introduced Camilla to his sons after Diana's death in 1997.
Sources, however, said that Camilla is a lot closer to William than Harry because of the Sussex pair's current situation with the royal family. William and Kate also have more chances of being around Camilla because they sometimes have royal engagements together while Harry and Meghan have stepped back from their duties as royals.
Meanwhile, details about the second baby have been scarce and the Sussexes haven't divulged when Meghan would give birth. Royal experts speculate that Meghan will deliver the child sometime in late spring or early summer. Per royal correspondent Camilla Tominey, the Duchess of Sussex looks like she's about five months pregnant in their baby announcement photo.
