Black Lightning season 4 episode 3 is set to arrive next week on The CW. Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is still struggling with his current situation. He knows that he has to save the city of Freeland from the threats looming around the corner. But then, he doesn't know how to get back with his old self.

In Black Lightning season 4 episode 3, Jefferson feels even more lost after going through a frustrating therapy. While he recognized that believing in himself is the key to make himself better again, the things he's gone through as of late have led him to question his abilities and powers.

Jefferson still mourns the death of Detective Bill Henderson (Damon Gupton), his dear and long-time friend. The latter tried to rescue him and his daughter, Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain), from the Markovian ambush at the end of season 3. However, he was fatally shot with an anti-meta weapon.

Jefferson will continue to deal with the aftermath of Henderson's death in Black Lightning season 4 episode 3. This particular event made him question himself being the titular superhero as he believes that he can no longer be the man he was once.

He's going through something more personal and emotional at the moment, making his mission to save Freeland challenging. He doesn't want to be a superhero anymore, noting that "Black Lightning's dead." Despite his doubts and thoughts of quitting, he's still determined to save the city.

Since this is the final installment, Jefferson's journey as a superhero will eventually progress. He may find the reason to believe in himself again and save the people of Freeland from the dangers that are coming in the future.

Aside from Jefferson, other characters will be given a spotlight in Black Lightning season 4 episode 3. For instance, Annisa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) will continue to care for Grace Choi (Chantal Thuy) who's in comatose until now. Lynn Stewart (Christine Adams), on the other hand, has made a breakthrough.

Meanwhile, a spin-off is being developed even though the flagship show is ending. No further details have been revealed as of yet, but it is about Jordan Calloway's character, Painkiller. Also, the current season will, reportedly, have a backdoor pilot for the new show.

Black Lightning season 4 episode 3 airs on Monday, Feb. 22, on The CW. The episode is directed by Salim Akil and written by John Mitchell Todd and Brusta Brown.
