Valve continues to surprise their clients and communities these past few years. But, what many DOTA players did not see coming was the game's venture to the world of anime. As announced, DOTA: Dragon's Blood, the first-ever animated series based on the DOTA 2 video game will drop soon on Netflix.

On Wednesday, the official social media accounts of Valve's game franchise revealed some of the details about the upcoming series. It will house a total of eight episodes and will drop as a whole on March 25.

Alongside these things, the streaming giant, also, released a teaser video for the community. The 1-minute clip features the premise of the series, seemingly showcasing how the animation and graphics would look like.

CBR reported that DOTA: Dragon's Blood will center its plot on the story of Davion, who is a renowned Dragon Knight. He is "devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world."

The main character will, also, encounter some of the popular heroes from DOTA 2, like Mirana. Based on the synopsis, his engagements with these characters involve him in "events much larger than he could ever imagined."

Valve stated that the animated series will "explore the DOTA universe like never before." The label, also, noted that they all "look forward to sharing" the new adventure with the passionate community and fellow fans of the video game.

Ashley Edward Miller produced and served as the showrunner of DOTA: Dragon's Blood, according to DotEsports. He is best known for his works including Thor and X-Men: First Class.

In an official statement, the executive producer said that DOTA fans and communities will love how they have imagined the DOTA 2 universe and "woven together an epic, emotional, and adult-oriented story" of some of the game's heroes. Miller, then, added that the "cinematic animation, acting, and music are simply next level." He, later on, thanked Valve for all the support.

South Korean animation studio Studio MIR animated the series. It was the same studio that worked on The Legend of KorraYoung Justice: Outsiders, and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Reports said that more details will arrive in the next few weeks. There will be new announcements and other information about DOTA: Dragon's Blood in the weeks to come ahead of the material's premiere on Netflix.

As noted, a new teaser material will drop on Friday. Valve and Netflix will consequently release the main trailer of the series on March 1.
