Castlevania season 4 is confirmed to be happening on Netflix. The streaming platform announced the renewal of the anime series back in March 2020, just a few weeks after the release of season 3. However, details about the fourth installment remain scarce until now.

While Castlevania season 4 was officially renewed, the exact release date is unknown as of this writing. The wait might be a little longer as anime series takes longer to produce than some live-action series. It can be noted that the first and second seasons had a 12-month gap, while 17 months for seasons 2 and 3.

If the fourth installment will follow this format, there is a possibility that the anime series will return before the end of summer 2021. The good thing is that the series was unlikely impacted by the global health crisis since most of the works can be done remotely.

As for the cast of Castlevania season 4, Trevor Belmont (voiced by Richard Armitage) and Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) are both returning. Director Sam Deats posted several images of the characters on Twitter back in November 2020, confirming their presence in the next chapter.

Other returning characters include Alucard (James Callis), Isaac (Adetokumboh M'Cormack), Hector (Theo James), Morana (Yasmine Al Massri), Carmilla (Jaime Murray), Lenore (Jessica Brown Findlay), and Striga (Ivana Milicevic), and Saint Germain (Bill Nighy).

Some casualties in season 3 may also make an appearance -- including The Judge (Jason Isaacs), Sumi (Rila Fukushima), and Taka (Toru Uchikado). In addition, new characters might be arriving, although nothing is officially confirmed at the moment.

When it comes to the plot, writer Warren Ellis told Entertainment Weekly in May 2020 that Castlevania season 4 builds the dramatic arc in the third installment. He teased that everything that gets launched in season 3 all comes down in the next chapter.

Ellis added that he's planning to reach a "partial conclusion" by the end of the fourth installment since season 5 isn't guaranteed. Thus, fans can expect more dramatic moments and huge battles if ever the latest season serves as the series finale.

Castlevania season 4 will further see the Alucards' growing madness. His loneliness takes over him after defeating his father, Dracula. There's a concern for Hector, as Lenore was able to convince him to build an army for the Council of Sisters.
