Prince Philip is slightly improving from his illness but his wife, Queen Elizabeth, will not be able to visit him at the hospital where he continues to receive treatment for an infection.

Queen Elizabeth has decided not to go to St. Bartholomew's Hospital, where her husband was transferred, after a two-week stay at King Edward VII Hospital, to get further tests and monitoring for his heart. Due to the risks of COVID-19, especially among the elderly, Palace officials believe it would be better for Her Majesty to remain isolated in Windsor.

The Queen is also said to be reluctant to come by the hospital because her presence will disrupt the workers and the patients. As it is, the frontliners are already overwhelmed and Her Majesty felt they don't need added pressure from the safety protocols they have to observe when she's at the hospital.

However, Philip's daughter-in-law, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, told the press during a recent royal engagement that he's doing better except for some physical pain. Apparently, the Duke of Edinburgh is getting treatments that "hurts at moments."

Last week, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, also told the press that his father is doing OK and responding to his treatments. While Philip is eager to get out of the hospital, the doctors said that they have to keep him longer so they could properly monitor his condition.

Prior to Edward's statement, the public grew concerned after seeing that Prince Charles visited his father and stayed at the hospital for more than 30 minutes, despite the COVID-19 restrictions. Sources said that the Prince of Wales was summoned by Philip himself but they refused to discuss why.

Meanwhile, royal staff members continue to be united in prayers for the Queen's husband. It comes as the royal family could be rocked by another scandal with the airing of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday, March 7.

However, a source from Buckingham Palace said that they have "more important things to worry about" than a shocking interview. The royal family is focused on making sure that the Duke of Edinburgh would be able to celebrate his 100th birthday in June.

Doctors have advised the royal family that Philip will not be coming home anytime soon because he still has an infection. According to The Guardian, this infection may have required a specialist's treatment because Philip also has a heart condition.
