Queen Elizabeth has finally spoken up after her grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle alleged in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that there were concerns over their son, Archie's skin color before he was born.

Private Talks Regarding Megxit Claims

On Tuesday, Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth that stated, "The family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan."

While the Queen said that she is particularly concerned about issues regarding "race," and Prince Harry and Meghan's revelations are "taken very seriously," she said the Royal family will discuss everything in private.

The statement also said that "some recollections may vary" but no further clarifications were given regarding which aspects of Prince Harry and Meghan's claims had different sides to the story.

It remains to be seen how the Queen will take matters into her own hands as the public continues to reel from Meghan's revelation that a royal family member raised concerns about how dark Archie's skin may be while Meghan was still pregnant.

Winfrey has since told CBS This Morning that the family member Meghan was referring to was not Prince Philip, Prince Harry's grandfather, nor Queen Elizabeth.

During the Sunday interview that was watched by more than 17 million viewers, Prince Harry said racism was a "large part" of his and Meghan's reasons for leaving the United Kingdom.

So Who was Concerned of Archie's Skin Color?

Experts and royal commentators have expressed their thoughts about the many revelations in the tell-interview and questions have been rife about who exactly talked about an unborn child's skin color.

ITV News royal editor, Chris Ship, said that since Prince Harry's grandparents weren't the ones who pointed out Archie's skin color, the only people left within the inner circle who may have talked about the matter are Prince Charles and his wife Camila Parker-Bowles, and Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

Prince Harry said that he feels "let down" by his father, Prince Charles.

Besides the issue on Archie's skin color being the core of the interview, Meghan also said that while she was pregnant, she was told Archie will not be given a royal title, nor security.

Prince Harry added that the matter on race and skin color was raised "right at the beginning," giving the Duke of Sussex the idea that their life in the UK will be difficult.

The Aftermath: Sympathy and Frustration over Megxit Revelations

Dubbed by the British media as the "Megxit," Prince Harry and Meghan's move of stepping back from the royal family last year already triggered divided opinions from the world, but frustration has been added to the flames after the tell-all interview.

Royal editor at Hello! Magazine said many people who watched the interview, including herself, were "shell-shocked," as the claims made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were "incredibly serious."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that Meghan's "courage" in discussing her mental health difficulties was a move that U.S. President Joe Biden "believes in."

While Meghan said that palace staff refused her plea of help when media and internet trolls attacked her, she said that Queen Elizabeth was always "wonderful" to her.
