Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might have revealed serious allegations of racism and lack of mental health support from the royals, but this has impacted the couple's popularity in a negative way.

Recent data from YouGov showed that Meghan and Harry lost significant public support from the British people as they've dipped in popularity since doing the interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Apparently, 45 percent of the U.K. public side with Harry, but 48 percent see him negatively. On the other hand, 58 percent or three in 10 people view Meghan negatively as her popularity with the British fell to -27.

The survey also showed that the interview did not impact the senior members of the royal family significantly. Though the British people are divided on how fair the Sussexes were treated during their time as working royals, many remain fond of Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

Public opinion on Prince Charles, however, dropped from 57 percent to 49 percent. Harry claimed in the interview that he was let down by his father, who avoided taking his calls after he and Meghan left the U.K.

Harry also said that Charles cut off their finances during the first quarter of 2020, which was around the same time they quit their royal roles. However, the Duke of Sussex said that he and his father have been on speaking terms prior to the interview. Harry told Oprah that working out his relationship with Charles will be one of his main lifegoals.

Meanwhile, sources from the Palace told the Evening Standard that Charles made sure that Harry and Meghan had financial support when they moved to America. However, the royal family has decided not to issue a denial and debunk Harry and Meghan's claims because they could start naming names and blow up the issues yet again.

The feeling among the royals is to discuss this matter in private and build bridges instead of burning it down. The insiders also said that as much as Harry reiterated in the interview that he has much respect for his grandmother, the Queen, he has damaged the institution she stood for.

Despite their popularity plunging in the U.K., Meghan's influence in America has had no negative impact. According to the Los Angeles Times, the frozen yogurt shop where Meghan worked when she was 13 years old had a boost in customers. Humphrey Yogurt's publicist Greg Rogers said that Meghan worked at their Beverly Connection location, which has since closed, but their Sherman Oaks site is still open and had 200 customers following the interview.
