Camilla Parker-Bowles had her vaccination with Prince Charles in early February, and while the royals were mum on which vaccine they had, the Duchess of Cornwall has now confirmed it was AstraZeneca.

The royal shared her vaccination experience during a visit to a pop-up vaccination facility in London. Camilla was asked by the medical personnel if she had her jab and she said that she didn't ask for a specific vaccine but took what she was given, which was the Oxford-made protection.

Camilla's statement comes as France, Germany, Italy, and Spain have paused their rollout of AstraZeneca following reports of a potential side effect. A small number of people who were vaccinated with this brand experienced blood clots, prompting the European Medicines Agency to conduct an investigation.

Earlier, Denmark and Norway also reported similar cases but a majority of these were non-fatal. A spokesperson from the World Health Organization said that there is still no evidence the blood clots were caused by the vaccine. They are confident that they will not change their recommendation for AstraZeneca.

The Duchess of Cornwall, who is in her early 70s, also said that she's afraid of needles but she had been waiting to get vaccinated. Camilla said that she actually "leapt for joy" after she got her ob because it meant being more secure and protected from the deadly virus, especially for the over 60 years old. She shared that her vaccination was painless and she's "eternally grateful" for the people that made this rollout happen.

The couple's vaccination follows Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who had theirs in January 2021. However, Buckingham Palace refused to say what brand of vaccine Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh received.

In March 2020, Camilla tested negative for COVID-19 after her husband had the infection. Charles had to self-isolate in a separate wing of their home in Birkhall, Scotland, where the couple stayed for much of the first lockdown.

After their vaccination, the royal pair has since been going to different centers to appease nervous people and thank the tireless medical workers who are facilitating the rollout. On their most recent outing, Camilla and Charles were observed to be standing closer to each other than usual but they still had face masks on.

Charles has been concerned that that only a few of the minority are not lining up to get their vaccination. The Prince of Wales said encouraged more faith leaders to speak to their community about the positive effects of the rollout.
