When Calls the Heart season 8 episode 5 is coming this weekend on Hallmark Channel, with the title "What the Heart Wants." The love triangle between Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), Nathan (Kevin McGarry), and Lucas (Chris McNally) will continue to play out in this week's episode.

Nathan and Lucas have been vying for Elizabeth's heart and attention, though it is still uncertain who the latter will choose. In When Calls the Heart season 8 episode 5, she will be spending time with one of them but their conversation eventually leads to somewhere else.

The preview of When Calls the Heart season 8 episode 5 featured Elizabeth and Lucas hanging out together in the bridge. The latter told her that he wanted to attend the ceremony, which is the Graduation Day, but he couldn't since it might be difficult for Nathan.

It can be recalled that in the second episode, "Honestly, Elizabeth," Nathan professed her love to her. Elizabeth admitted that she's aware of his feelings but they can't be together, especially after the shooting scare at the end of the season 7 finale.

Nathan promised Elizabeth that he'll wait for her and he's willing to quit his job as a Mountie. He told her that he's in love with her -- although she seemed certain about her decision. The situation might be more complicated since she's spending with Lucas this time around.

The love triangle between Elizabeth, Nathan, and Lucas has been one of the major parts of the story. Both men are determined to win her, though it is unclear where her heart really lies. There's still hesitation after the death of her husband, Jack (Daniel Lissing), in season 5.

Elizabeth's situation with Nathan is quite complicated as her past with Jack might play out. Her late husband was also a Mountie and there's already a familiarity and fear in the event she chooses him. Lucas, on the other hand, brings the adventurous side of Elizabeth which is new to her.

Elsewhere in When Calls the Heart season 8 episode 5, the Graduation Day at the Jack Thorton School house is coming. The people in Hope Valley are preparing for the celebration, while others are dealing with some personal matters.

For instance, Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) are both adjusting to having family in town. The Coulter family reels after receiving a letter from Dottie (Erica Carroll). Clara (Evan Bourne) found out that Jesse (Aren Buchholz) has made a huge mistake.

When Calls the Heart season 8 episode 5 airs on Sunday, March 21, on Hallmark Channel.
