Snowpiercer season 2 finale is airing its two-part episode within a few weeks on TNT. The post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller will feature the ultimate showdown between Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly), Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs), and Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean).
Mr. Wilford is an eccentric billionaire and genius inventor, who has been a major adversary in the second installment. Following his arrival on the Snowpiercer train, a power struggle emerged and caused a rift between people. Now, the battle against him further plays out in Snowpiercer season 2 finale.
Mr. Wilford and Melanie knew each other, but the latter left him after believing he had died during the Freeze. At the end of the first season, it was revealed that he actually survived and he is now in control of the secondary supply train, which is known as the Big Alice.
Using his new technology and master plan, Mr. Wilford is determined to take over the Big Alice and the Snowpiercer. People in both trains have been divided following his arrival, with some turning to his side and helping him to make his plans happen.
Yet, Layton won't back down and isn't afraid to battle against him even though he knows it wouldn't be easy. The ultimate showdown is going to happen in Snowpiercer season 2 finale and it will be an intense one. At the same time, Melanie finds something that could change everything.
While leading the charge, Melanie eventually made a shocking discovery and it could change the fate of humanity. It seems like there is a new secret that will be uncovered, something that's going to be a major part of the next installment.
Snowpiercer season 2 finale won't be the last episode, as the series has already been renewed in January 2021. Hence, whatever Melanie learns, it'll be an essential plot in the third installment. It might open an entirely new chapter for the people living in the two trains.
In addition, a new character is joining in season 3, with Archie Panjabi confirmed to be playing a significant role. No further details have been revealed, but she is set to portray Asha. It's yet to be seen whether she is a friend or foe for both Melanie and Layton.
The two-part Snowpiercer season 2 finale is arriving on Monday, March 29, on TNT.
