The future of DOTA: Dragon's Blood season 2 remains uncertain at the moment as Netflix hasn't officially renewed the animated series. Despite that, some are optimistic that the show is coming back given that the first season was deemed as "Book 1," hinting that more seasons are coming in the future.

Netflix might reveal the renewal status of DOTA: Dragon's Blood season 2 in the coming weeks or months -- possibly this Spring. Even though there are uncertainties surrounding its future, animatic editor Robert Burnett noted he has already worked on a total of 24 episodes so far.

The series is based on DOTA 2, a popular 2013 MOVA video game developed and published by Valve. The animated series is created by Ashley Miller, who also serves as an executive producer. It is produced by Kaiju Boulevard, alongside Studio Mir.

In the event the second installment is given a thumbs up, fans may not be able to see it coming back anytime soon. Considering Netflix's history in dropping animated series, the second installment is expected to arrive in March 2022, which is a year after the release of the first season.

As for who's coming back in DOTA: Dragon's Blood season 2, the second outing will likely bring back all the main players from season 1. A lot of characters have been killed in the first eight episodes and most of the remaining heroes must fight for their lives and their future.

DOTA: Dragon's Blood season 2 will continue to feature the voices of Yuri Lowenthal as Davion, Lara Pulver as Princess Mirana, Tonny Todd as Slyrak the Ember Eldwyrm, Trot Baker as Invoker, Josh Keaton as Bram, Kari Wahlgren as Luna, and Alix Wilton Reagan as Selemene.

Meanwhile, the previous outing focused on the conflict between the Dark Moon Order of Nightsilver Woods and the elves of Coedwig. The story explores whether or not the latter can reach a peaceful agreement with the former.

However, the pact between Dark Moon Order of Nightsilver Woods and the elves of Coedwig gone wrong when Goddess Selemene is no longer present. The ending of the first season builds up more stories in future installments.

In DOTA: Dragon's Blood season 2, Dragon Knight Davion and his company will have to deal with the wrath of Invoker, a powered powerful Elven Sage. He must also face the consequences after making a deal with a demon who's seeking absolute control.
