Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is officially coming to the United States next month. The release date of the animated feature film has been revealed, which first hit theaters in 2020 in Japan. In addition to the news, the movie gets R-rating in the U.S. due to its "violence and bloody images."

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was released on October 16, 2020, in Japan, smashing box office records. Reportedly, the movie made $100 million during its first 10 days despite the COVID-19 pandemic. It surpassed the record of Spirited Away in 2001 as the highest-grossing film in Japanese history.

Also titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, the animated feature film is based on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The story follows a young boy named Tanjiro Kamado, who wants to be a demon slayer when his family was massacred.

Tanjiro is also on a journey in finding a cure for his younger sister, Nezuko, who's slowly becoming a demon. The siblings, together with Zenitsu and Inosuke, will team up with Flame Hashira Kyōjurō Rengoku. Their mission is to hunt down a demon that killed many demon slayers.

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke boarded the Train to help Flame Hashira Kyōjurō Rengoku searching for the demon. However, they were enchanted and fell into a deep sleep. All of them have happy dreams, but Tanjiro soon realized that he's just dreaming and tried to wake himself up.

Once Demon Slayer: Mugen Train hits theaters in the U.S., the animated feature film will receive an R-rating as the plot contains violence and bloody images. But, despite its contents, the movie gets PG-12 in Japan -- which is PG-13 in the U.S.

The movie will be available in IMA and 4DX theaters on Friday, April 23, and advanced tickets on sale on April 9. The film will also reach more American audiences via streaming and digital release on Tuesday, June 22. It will be available in both English dub and a subtitled version.
