Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 9 is coming this weekend on NBC, with the title "Zoey's Extraordinary Mystery." The titular character's (Jane Levy) love life will be further explored here, particularly her romantic relationship with Simon (John Clarence Stewart).
Zoey and Simon get even closer in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 9. Over the past few episodes, there have been hints that they feel something romantic towards each other. Now, it seems like the spark has finally ignited.
In episode 8, titled "Zoey's Extraordinary Birthday," the titular character celebrated her 30th birthday. At the same time, she started to sort her feelings out for the men in her life: Simon and Max (Skylar Astin). Zoey has been in a complicated love triangle, but it looks like she has made her decision this time.
Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Austin Winsberg discussed some of what transpired in the previous episode. He explained that Zoey is in a complicated space with Max, who later reunited with his former summer camp crush, Rose. (Katie Findlay).
At one point, Max asked Zoey if she's ready to be just with him. However, she seems to be confused and not ready to say what's on her mind. Because of this, he started to think that, perhaps, he should start exploring other things -- suggesting that he'll turn his attention to Rose.
Meanwhile, Winsberg said that Zoey and Simon "have always had chemistry." He teased that they're going to "rekindle some of their feelings and vibes," something that's already there but she tried to put it aside. Some of these will be addressed in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 9.
Aside from the romantic life of Zoey, the upcoming episode sees the titular character encountering another issue with her power. Her ability to hear people's songs in the heart malfunctioned and this could lead to several problems along the way.
Based on the synopsis of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist season 2 episode 9, Zoey's power "mysteriously starts glitching again" after seeing a medium. It's yet to be seen how huge the impact could be, yet it'll cause a mess on her life and the people around her.
Zoey's power has been one of the major parts of the series. Although she struggled with it during the early run, she began to accept it later on and used it to help other people. However, she may not be able to properly help time this time around since it's glitching again.
