Prince Harry will meet with his family for the first time since he appeared with his wife Meghan Markle in a controversial interview with American broadcaster Oprah Winfrey.

Prince Harry arrived in the UK without his wife Monday, who is pregnant and advised not to travel, ahead of his grandfather's funeral at Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry reportedly landed at London's Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles. He is set to enter into a period of quarantine before he attends Prince Philip's funeral and farewell service this weekend, but not the full 10-day period.

The UK currently requires all international arrivals to self-isolate for at least 10 days. Arriving travelers are also required to undergo a COVID-19 test twice within the 10-day period.

The Duke of Edinburgh died Friday morning at 99 years of age.

Prince Harry and the rest of his family will be attending the ceremonial royal funeral this coming Saturday. Buckingham Palace officials said that only 30 people will be allowed to attend the service in adherence to existing COVID-19 restrictions.

The funeral will take place within the required 10-day isolation for Prince Harry but he will be exempted under a special rule for mourners.

Under the UK public health guidelines, travelers in self-isolation will be allowed to leave in limited circumstances and "compassionate grounds." This includes attending funerals for family members and friends.

Prince Harry's arrival marks his first in-person meeting with his family since he appeared in the tell-all interview with Oprah.

During the interview, the Duchess of Sussex made several accusations against the royal family, including stating that one of them had asked Harry "how dark" the skin of their child would be.

The entire country is in a state of mourning over the death of its "grandfather."

Prince Philip married Elizabeth in 1947, five years before she was crowned the Queen of England.

Thousands of people have been leaving notes and flowers at the gates of Winsor Castle and outside Buckingham Palace to express their condolences to the royal family.
