NCIS season 18 episode 12 will be exploring more of the family history of Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama). He is going to meet his father, whom he hasn't seen since he was a kid. However, their sudden reunion comes with an unexpected twist.
NCIS season 18 episode 12 comes with the title "Sangre," and it marks the arrival of Nick's father, Miguel Torres, played by Steven Bauer. Yet, his return has something to do with a case the team has been investigating at the moment.
As the synopsis notes, evidence obtained from the stabbing of a Marine Sergeant has led Torres to meet his father, who left when he was still young. This is an opportunity to learn more about where Miguel went and why he hasn't shown up in his son's life over the past years.
Torres is not open when it comes to his family history and his past. His sister already appeared in the series, but that was a long time ago and his backstory wasn't really fleshed out. Now, his father's presence could bring some dramatic and emotional moments for him.
Meanwhile, it's yet to be seen whether or not Miguel is, indeed, involved with the case the team is investigating in NCIS season 18 episode 12. Some of the preview photos showed him seemingly helping Nick with the case -- through this could lead to several questions.
Since Miguel suddenly showed up in town, it's unclear if Nick and the rest of the team can trust him. He's been gone for many years and his son isn't sure if the man he's talking to is reliable or not. It's yet to be seen whether he's just framed up for the crime or he's involved in the murder.
Elsewhere, NCIS season 18 episode 12 sees Pam Dawber returning as the investigative reporter Marcie Warren. She's been part of the story over the past few episodes, particularly tied to Leroy Jethro Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) as they have been spending some time together.
Also, even though Gibbs is suspended, he still managed to find ways to work with the team. Other preview photos featured him and Torres, possibly helping the latter in dealing with his father's investigation. He could offer some advice and will help him figure out what he should do at times like this.
Aside from helping Torres, Gibbs is also spending time with Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). The two will likely have an important conversation as the latter visited Harmon's character at his home. Their discussion might be tied to the current case they're investigating.
