Castlevania Season 4 will officially drop on Netflix, on May 13. The confirmation arrived on Saturday on the platform's official social media accounts.

Avid fans and followers have waited for more than a year to learn the details of the new and upcoming installment. While the streaming giant immediately announced the renewal days after Season 3's premiere last March 2020, it took several months before the teaser materials started to come in.

Now that the public is gearing up for the new season's arrival, Netflix consequently said that it will serve as the final run of the animated series. Although this may have saddened many people, Comic Book delivered surprising news on the same day.

Castlevania Season 4 may be the end of the series but, it will not be the conclusion of the franchise. As explained, Netflix is eyeing to expand the universe with a new series, "with an entirely new cast of characters."

The details remain scarce, though, as the streaming giant, as well as the series franchise, has yet to share any information about the matter. Nevertheless, Netflix confirmed it already on the same day the release date of Season 4 was announced on Twitter.

However, instead of sharing an official statement, they provided the netizens with a link to an article from Deadline. As it happened, the publication was the first one to broke the expansion news before the public on Friday.

The post did not specify anything, though, about the franchise's movements after Castlevania Season 4. Even so, it seemingly insinuates that a new series from the same universe is not surprising, considering the apparent popularity and success of the material.

As pointed out, Castlevania played an integral part in the "evolution of Netflix's original programming." Upon the anime material's pilot premiere in 2017, it became the streaming giant's "first original anime series and the second adult animated comedy" next to F Is For Family.

It has, also, received high ratings and awards from various institutions. During its second season run, it even obtained a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

All in all, though, it is still good news for the fandom despite the show's conclusion. Moreover, fans are, reportedly, more focused on the arrival of Castlevania Season 4.

Screen Rant reported that the eagerness and excitement have become more apparent. This comes after Netflix released another teaser material upon the announcement of the installment's release date.
