Yeri of Red Velvet and Jennie of BLACKPINK seemingly share a close friendship. While no one knows how tight they are behind cameras, the former appears to have given the public an idea.

AllKpop said that she "showed off" her ties with the "SOLO" singer on Wednesday. As it happened, she posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram, featuring her sitting on a sofa.

Upon seeing the background, especially the couch, many netizens speculated that she was in Jennie's home. The BLACKPINK member previously posted a photo of herself on the same platform, featuring a similar background.

Aside from this, Yeri captioned the photo with "Photo j," alongside a few emojis. Although this did not confirm whether she was, indeed, spending some time at Jennie's home, several individuals concluded that the Red Velvet member indicated it already in her caption.

Yeri and Jennie's recent viral moment on various channels was not their first. As fans would recall, the two K-Pop idols previously hit the headlines after the "Psycho" singer made a surprise appearance on the BLACKPINK member's Instagram live.

Soompi said that Yeri joined Jennie in her live stream following the success of "How You Like That" on SBS Inkigayo. After accepting the invite, the "Ice Cream" singer noted that it was her first time "trying" it.

During the engagement, Yeri greeted everyone and introduced herself. She even sang one of the BLACKPINK's hit track before the live stream ended.

The Red Velvet member, also, reportedly, continued to show her support toward Jennie the next day. She, once again, "jammed" to "How You Like That" during her own Instagram live broadcast.

Despite the friendship, though, allegations and controversies involving Yeri and Jennie have remained apparent. Just a few months after their joint live stream on Instagram, the Perfect Velvet artist faced backlash after the public accused her of "imitating" the BLACKPINK idol.

Kpop Starz reported that Yeri received tons of criticisms and malicious comments on various media channels. As noted, many individuals attacked her for allegedly copying Jennie's "style" and appearance.

Several comparison posts emerged, with critics pointing out all the similarities between the two K-Pop idol's visuals and fashion choices. But, while the allegations continued to develop, fans and supporters of Red Velvet argued that Yeri might have just gotten some inspiration from Jennie.

Whatever the case, though, the two female South Korean artists maintained their silence. They never addressed nor minded the issues, leading all the talks to end.
