An episode of Eric Nam's American podcast, Song Exploder, recently resurfaced a year after its release for, allegedly, having a connection with BTS's upcoming English song, "Butter." As the singer-songwriter revealed that Americans used to compare him to butter, it gave birth to theories about the group's comeback single.

Fans are now casting their different assumptions about the new BTS song, "Butter." After hearing Eric's words, some believe it will be a diss track.

According to Koreaboo, Eric talked about his time as a child of immigrants in the U.S., how his identity played out in the K-pop music scene, and the difficulties he faced as a producer. Though he had a Western background, the 32-year-old star still wanted to remain faithful to his identity, though he knew it wasn't accepted in the field he was in.

As he discussed a lot of things, fans got interested when he talked about how his voice was often compared to butter. He revealed he was often mocked because of his wrong pronunciation, which, they said, made him too white.

Eric would receive comments that he sounded so foreign like butter, which seemed to be the most American thing as they always cooked everything with butter. Did it mean the new BTS song would be about the insults?

USA Today noted the group surprised everyone when they announced the second English-language track, "Butter," would be out on May 21. It was described as a "dance-pop" song, overflowing with the smooth and charismatic charm of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

By the looks of it, the South Korean superstars are now into food-themed promotions, per CNet. After its deal with McDonald's, they are about to have another food-themed project, though it's a song this time.

BTS recently started a live stream of butter melting for an hour and it now has over 13 million views as of this writing. Dubbed as the "Butter" logo trailer, it shows an image of the butter with the group's logo on the top of it.

Different sounds played in the background, like kitchen noises, water pouring, frying, food boiling, walking, and many more. It also occasionally featured other images, such as musical notes, a pair of sunglasses, a sun, and hearts inside a thought balloon.

The butter itself seemed to tell a story. Aside from these symbols, it also started as a square shape until it turned into a heart shape.

Fans are about to seem more about BTS's new song, "Butter," in the days to come after it drops a full promotional schedule on Twitter. Aside from its official release date, it also unveils when its teaser posters, clips, and photos will be out.
