Netflix has just dropped Yasuke and it instantly gets rave reviews, praise, and a lot of positive reactions. With its good outcome, will there be Yasuke Season 2?
The historical animated series quickly gets everyone's attention, thanks to its perfect adaptation of an African descent samurai warrior's story. Although its six-episode debut season just hit the small screen, fans are now clamoring for Yasuke Season 2.So, will it come to light?
Judging by the first season's success, it looks like a renewal is not a question at all. Fans seem to love its action-packed scenes, not to mention a touching story and a heart-warming adventure of the lead star, Yasuke.
According to OtakuKart News, Netflix has already acknowledged the debut season's victory, though it is yet to announce a renewal yet--the company's usual practice. It usually takes the streaming giant a month before announcing a renewal, knowing it will first look at its viewership, which is far more critical than the heaps of praise and reviews.
But for LeSean Thomas-directed anime, it looks like Yasuke Season 2 will be a sure one. In fact, in an interview with the director himself, he hinted at the possibility of doing another installment for the series before its first season's release.
However, he has no idea yet how the second season will go, but with the shower of appreciation, he may continue using its first season's structure. Thomas is also excited for the series' future, as its story may run further if it turns out to be big.
So, what may happen in the second season? The Cinemaholic noted Yasuke might put Ichiro under his wings and train him following a samurai's way. He may go on a journey to join Morisuke's move to pave the way for peace to happen in Japan.
He may work with Achoja in Yasuke Season 2 to fight the enemies, knowing the daimyo is assumed to be still alive. If she manages to regain her power and abilities, she may come after Saki and Yasuke.
Yasuke tells the story of a Black samurai with the same name who used to serve in Japan. With the rave the first season is now receiving, it can't be denied that Thomas has successfully turned him into a big star.
Though it is only six episodes long and the anime has fictionalized much of his story, fans agree that it has done an excellent job capturing the samurai's tale, per Comicbook. Records of his story are scarce, so it is pretty understandable if Thomas and the creative behind the series created a fictional account that stays true to its theme.
So far, there are no words yet on when Yasuke Season 2 will start production or if it will indeed have a second season. But fans are hoping for that.
