Princess Charlotte, the second child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, doesn't use her title in school and just like her brother, Prince George, she goes by a slightly different full name in class, where they are treated as normal students.

Charlotte, whose actual name is HRH Princess Charlotte, has been using Charlotte Cambridge in her school records. Like George, she has taken her parents' title as the family name to use in class.

When Prince William and Prince Harry were attending school more than 20 years ago, they also took their parents' title as their surname. Thus, William and Harry were called in class as William Wales and Harry Wales as their parents were the Prince and Princess of Wales. This practice went on for Harry until his years in the military, where he was called Captain Wales by his colleagues.

Charlotte goes to school at Thomas's Battersea in London where she is a Year 2 student. Her brother George is a Year 3 student in the same school. Youngest sibling Prince Louis recently attended nursery class at Willcocks Nursery and is likely also using Cambridge as his surname.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a new photo of Charlotte as she turned six years old on May 2. The image was taken by Middleton at their backyard in Norfolk.

Insiders told Us Weekly that while Charlotte is "definitely a girly girl" she enjoys outdoor play immensely with her brothers. On some occasions, she likes to play dress-up as well and loves having a toy tiara.

William and Middleton, however, go out of their way to keep their children grounded. The insider said that although George, Charlotte and Louis are slowly becoming aware of their status and privilege, they are not spoiled children.

It also helps that the Cambridge kids have the influence of their grandmother, Carole Middleton, who spends some time planting with George, Charlotte and Louis. She said that it was important for the children to learn to appreciate nature early on so they are allowed to get a bit muddy and dirty.

Farming and planting are also the favorite activity of Prince Charles, their grandfather and sources said that the Prince of Wales spent some time with the family in early January at their home in Anmer Hall.

Meanwhile, Charlotte is expected to become a working royal when she is of age and help her brother, George, who will be king after William. For now, however, the Cambridge children are enjoying their time as children so they grow up well-adjusted to the royal spotlight.
