Nearly three years have passed since Overlord concluded its third season. While many fans and supporters have remained positive that the anime series will return, no one could confirm until recently.

On Saturday, an announcement emerged, stating that the title's fourth season is already "in the works." Comic Book reported that the franchise's official social media accounts released the confirmation, alongside a few teaser materials.

The post comes with a poster of the series, featuring its lead character, Ainz Ooal Gowns. But, aside from the social media update, a "live special" video, also, dropped, revealing some of the essential details of the upcoming projects from the studio.

Comic Book Resources said that the live stream saw voice actors Satoshi Hino, Yumi Hara, and Sumire Uesaka confirming the arrival of Overlord Season 4. Their appearances, also, verified that the original cast members will reprise their roles for the new installment.

Alongside the three leads, the returning voice actors include Emiri Kato, Masayuki Katou, Kenta Miyake, and Yumi Uchiyama. They will, once again, lend their voices to the characters of Aura, Demiurge, Cocytus, and Mare, respectively.

Director Naoyuki Itou, script supervisor Yukie Sugawara, and character designer Satoshi Tasaki will, also, reprise their roles in the overall production. Likewise, South Korean artist so-bin will continue to oversee the character designs. As noted, he is the original designer of the franchise's cover artwork, as well as the light novels' key visuals.

Apart from the confirmation of Overlord Season 4, the announcements, also, revealed that the franchise will deliver another original film. It will, reportedly, adapt the manga's "Holy Kingdom" arc.

The movie will serve as the third installment to its line. The first two titles premiered in 2017, and they served as compilation films of the series' pilot season.

The second season of the adaptation succeeded the following year. A few months later, Season 3 dropped on small screens and became the last installments to the franchise.

It remains unclear, though, as to when Overlord Season 4 will premiere. The same goes, as well, for the untitled movie.

Nevertheless, several teaser materials quickly emerged following the announcement. It is likely that the fourth season will drop long before the new original movie arrives.

Meanwhile, Overlord's crossover series Iseki Quartet is, also, returning soon for its third season run. Although the exact release date remains unknown, HITC said that fans and followers may witness first the events of the crossover material.
