Fans are still patiently waiting for the coming of One Punch Man Season 3. Everyone is looking forward to an official renewal announcement nearly two years already after Season 2 ended, so will it still see the light of the day?

The lengthy delay between Seasons 1 and 2 hints at the possibility that there will be a long wait before fans can see One Punch Man Season 3. Although it is quite impossible that the series will be canceled, it may be good to know that it will be greenlit, so what causes its delay?

So far, the anime series is yet to receive any official updates, making fans wonder if it will still push through. Though its manga version is continuously dropping new chapters, at least, every month, there is no progress on its anime department.

According to BlockToro, the new season may be officially announced when the franchise drops a new trailer about the series' renewal. From here, it may come with the much-awaited official release date, though it remains to be seen when this will finally happen.

So, fans are advised to take everything they see about One Punch Man Season 3 with a grain of salt until an official announcement or update is revealed. If a new season indeed pushes through, just like other anime series, it will be based on its manga story, adapting the original source's story.

Fans want to see what will happen to Saitama next now that Garou will be his main villain. Will the latter get to fight the rest of the top-ranked S class heroes?

Anime Next Season noted the manga currently has 23 volumes, while Chapters 133 to 144 are yet to be out in tankōbon format. The first season adapted Volumes 1 to 7, while the second season explored Volumes 8 to 16.

There are only seven volumes left, so is it enough for One Punch Man Season 3 to cover and tell a complete story? By the looks of it, yes, though people behind the anime production may still wait for Yusuke Murata to drop more chapters before they start doing the much-awaited third season installment.

It is also possible that the issue of the second season's change of studio caused the third season's delay, per Screenrant. Why?

The second season has been criticized due to its change of studio--from Madhouse to J.C. Staff--which badly affected its animation. So, fans are now clamoring for the return of Season 1's director Shingo Natsume, an animation legend, to helm the new season.

If this happens, it may take a long while before Season 3 drops due to another transition. It may take another year or two to complete another set of episodes, which may come out in 2022 or 2023.
