BTS has officially dropped their much-awaited new English song, "Butter." As its music video is now making a new record, RM and Suga talked about how they perfectly created its catchy lyrics.

BTS held an online press conference and revealed they all seriously took the "Butter" songwriting process after making it a competition among themselves. Fans don't have to worry, though, as it is only a friendly one and even helps them improve their songwriting skills.

According to Koreabook, RM revealed that the song's original lyrics needed a revamp to perfectly suit each rapper's style. So, he competed with Suga and J-Jope to create the most beautiful lyrics that would be officially used on the song.

Among the three, RM won and got the credits for the song's lyrics. The 26-year-old star revealed the melody's rap part needed some arrangement to match their own styles, so he, Suga and J-Hope rewrote the verses.

Suga revealed that although he had worked so hard on his English to write "Butter" lyrics, he still ended up losing to RM. He then said that they always competed with each other when they were writing songs.

Suga studied English so that he could write the song's lyrics, but he still failed. Anyhow, it's a win-win situation for the whole BTS now that they have finally dropped its official music video on Friday, May 21, Rappler noted.

The clip is every inch energetic with its colorful settings and upbeat and fun track. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook launch their bold and new looks while showing their signature dance moves.

To suit the songs' theme, the video features buttery, syrupy pancakes, some mug shots, and, of course, the charismatic faces of the global K-pop sensation. Aside from the clip, BTS teased a physical copy of "Butter" would be out in Korea and all over the world.

Meanwhile, the music video has only been out for a day, but it is already breaking and making new records. It has now become the highest 24-hour debut in YouTube history, for now.

As of midnight EST, its clip had about 112.855 million views on YouTube, which is the biggest first-day view count of all time, per Forbes. By the looks of it, BTS manages to surpass themselves, previously holding the record with their first English song, "Dynamite," which had 101.1 million views on its first day.
