BTS has done it again and broke its own record on YouTube with the release of the "Butter" video on May 21. The hit single has now surpassed "Dynamite" in terms of views in just a short amount of time.

According to reports, "Butter" has raked in 113 million views on the day it was released, setting a new world record on the video-sharing platform. Last year, "Dynamite" reached 101.1 million views within 24 hours.

"Butter" has also had the greatest number of "concurrent viewers" on YouTube at 3.9 million. Currently, the BTS video is nearly crossing over 173 million views, the biggest of any artist on the platform.

In South Korea, "Butter" has managed an all-kill as the song has broken every local music chart, according to Soompi. Since the song's release, the group has also been hosting global parties online with the ARMY, their fanbase.

The success of "Butter" is a product of hard work and sheer determination. The septet has said that they are aiming to win a Grammy award this time, after their failed bid last year for "Dynamite." During a press conference in South Korea, the boys said that they are hoping to get good results for their new song. So far, BTS is on the right track.

Even famous Brazilian author, Paulo Coelho, has been impressed with the boys' new track and he congratulated BTS on Twitter after "Butter" reached 100 million views on YouTube. Coelho said that he's losing followers because of his tweet to the BTS but he's not the least bit worried that some people don't like his preference. He said it's the "price he has to pay" for airing his admiration for the Asian group.

Meanwhile, the Bangtan boys are preparing to celebrate their 8th year anniversary as a group. The boys confirmed that there will be a two-day special event online called the BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo. This will replace the meet and greet that BTS normally mounts every year but they cannot do it these days because of the pandemic.

The event, set for June 13 and 14, will include a "great performance" dedicated to the ARMY. The boys will also likely sing and dance to "Butter." BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo will stream on their YouTube channel but the details on how to access this online event will be revealed shortly.

Ahead of the BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo, the boys will perform "Butter" for the first time on the virtual global stage at the Billboard Music Awards. The septet is also up for four awards at this event.
