WARNING: This article contains spoilers for the first half of Lucifer season 5. Read at your own risk.

The second part of Lucifer season 5 is officially arriving this weekend on Netflix. The first eight episodes of the series were released back in August 2020, and it leaves a massive cliffhanger when God (Dennis Haysbert) showed up in the picture.

Lucifer season 5 returns with the showdown between the titular character (Tom Ellis) and his twin brother, Michael (played also by Ellis). The latter was introduced in the first half of the current installment and he serves as a Big Bad since then.

The recently-released key art puts the two at the front and center, hinting that more stories are coming for them. Michael is willing to cause chaos just to get whatever his twin brother has, most especially the life in Los Angeles. In fact, he was able to impersonate him and convinced some people that "he's the devil."

Although his identity was eventually revealed, Michal will still have a major role to play moving forward with the second part. He won't likely stop until he gets what he wants, and the situation might become more complicated with the presence of God.

Their father will have an important role, as well. At the end of the first part, he appeared amidst the chaos between Lucifer and Michael. It remains to be seen how his presence on Earth could impact everyone, but he is going to be significant in the storyline of the titular character.

Lucifer season 5 could show more of their dynamics, as well as their backstory. He has been estranged from his father for quite a long time and their issues might be explored in the second half. Some secrets and untold stories might also be unraveled along the way.

But, apart from family matters, the complicated love life of the titular character will also be addressed. After facing a lot of ups and downs, he and his partner, Chloe Decker (Lauren German), take their relationship to the next level.

However, that doesn't mean that everything will be smooth sailing for both of them. Their differences could come in their way, plus with the presence of God and Michael. There are a lot of things that they need to work on, most especially whether or not they could keep their relationship now.

Lucifer season 5 returns on Friday, May 28, on Netflix.
