WARNING: This article has spoilers for the first half of Lucifer season 5. Read at your own risk.

Lucifer season 5 has no official return date, but fans have been getting a lot of updates about what's coming in the second half of the story. Just recently, new footage was unveiled teasing that Chloe Decker (Lauren German) is looking for his missing partner, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis).

Chloe is at the front and center of the new clip released on the series' official Twitter account. While the footage featured most scenes from the past installments, a brand new scene from the second half of Lucifer season 5 sees the character looking for her titular partner.

In the video, Chloe can be seen walking through the Los Angeles Police Department precinct. The scene is the continuation of what was shown in the midseason finale, in which the time was frozen, and Lucifer comes head-to-head with his twin brother (played also by Ellis).

Lucifer season 5 will pick up this cliffhanger in episode 8. There is a question about what's coming after the fight between the twin brothers. The clip sees the window glass shattered on the floor, and Chloe looks confused while asking: "Have you seen Lucifer?"

This could be a huge part of the second half, as the two might be separated again because of the celestial things happening around them. Lucifer and Chloe already admitted their feelings for each other, but there are still many problems coming in their way.

Now that God (Dennis Haysbert), there is a possibility that their relationship will experience changes again. Since her partner is seemingly missing, Chloe will do her best to locate his whereabouts. Yet, she knows that searching for him won't be that easy.

It remains to be seen whether or not the two will be separated again for a long time -- just like their painful separation back in the season 4 finale. Following the release of the clip, fans react as to what the future holds for both Chloe and Lucifer.

One fan said that it's nice to see Chloe unfrozen, yet it hurts seeing her searching for her partner and afraid he might have gone missing. Right now, it is not confirmed that the titular character is, indeed, missing. There's a possibility that he and his twin brother went elsewhere to continue their fight.

The first eight episodes of Lucifer season 5 are available to stream on Netflix.
