While it has been only a few weeks since the conclusion of the material, the series actor is already, reportedly, in talks to take on a new lead role for an upcoming drama. Koreaboo said that the reports first came from Sports Donga, claiming that the series carries the title, A Chaebol Family's Youngest Son.
Originally set for a 2019 release, the upcoming drama on JTBC is said to be arriving in early 2022. This comes after a delay in the production took place due to "various circumstances."
As the speculations continue to develop, Song Joong Ki has yet to break his silence. Nevertheless, his agency recently released a statement, confirming that the actor has, indeed, received a casting offer from the production.
HiSTORY D&C, also, noted that the celebrity is still considering and reviewing the offer. Accordingly, there are no guarantees yet as to whether he will accept the project. Amid waiting for further information, though, fans and followers are, reportedly, excited to learn the developments of the deal. As explained, the expectations are "sky-high" because many top actors were hoping to snag the role.
Soompi released a similar report on the matter, sharing the background of the series in question. As stated, A Chaebol Family's Youngest Son is based on a "hit web novel" of the same name.
The story follows a young man, who met his demise after a chaebol family framed him for embezzlement. Following the unfortunate event, he gets to be reborn as the youngest son of the same family.
From there, he plans to take his revenge. He works within the family to gradually take over from them.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki made an appearance following the conclusion of Vincenzo earlier this month. Apart from discussing his thoughts about the series and the reception, he, also, talked about his future plans, particularly his potential projects in the next few months.
He began with the speculations about Vincenzo 2. He said that "there are no discussions" at all but, he feels "thankful" that the public wants to have one.
Song Joong Ki, then, pointed out that he has not decided on his next ventures yet. Nevertheless, he mentioned Bogotá, including the continuation of its filming and shooting.
He said that the production will likely begin this month, adding, however, that they might use technology because they can't fly to Colombia. In the end, he assured his audience that he would "wrap it up as best as [he] can as the lead actor."
