Prince Harry used to have his eye on a different Hollywood actress before Meghan Markle and even went as far as to ask her out on a date. However, she didn't encourage the Duke of Sussex and instead turned him down when he offered a tour ofPalace.
The actress is none other than Oscar-winning superstar Jennifer Lawrence and this incident took place in 2015. Prince Harry apparently wanted to have a dinner date with her to get to know her better.
However, Lawrence was said to have "politely declined" the queen's grandson partly because she was rumored to be dating Chris Martin, another British star and the lead singer of Coldplay. At that time, Martin was also newly separated from his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.
According to OK!, Harry's crush on Lawrence go way back. In 2013, when he was a 28-year-old man fresh off the military service, one of the first things he apparently wanted to do was to score a date with Lawrence.
Harry then had a plan to host a party during his visit to the United States and invite the Hollywood superstar, who is five years younger than him. The Duke of Sussex was said to be attracted to Lawrence because she's a pretty "chill" girl though sources close to Harry said that he really likes women who are "buxom blondes."
During a red-carpet incident in 2018, Lawrence was asked to give Harry advice when word got out that he'll soon to marry Markle, his then-girlfriend of barely 18 months. Lawrence said in a cheeky manner that the prince has to learn to deal with "one of them" now that he's going to be a husband of an actress. The Hunger Games star said that if Markle is anything like her then she would want to be "always right."
Meanwhile, Harry has been surrounded by a Hollywood circle ever since he quit his royal roles and packed his bags to live in California with Markle and their son in 2020. Prince Harry has been trying to make it on his own and earn a private income, instead of relying on royal funding, by landing commercial deals with Netflix, Spotify and Apple TV+. The Duke of Sussex has been producing shows and will soon work on a new documentary series about his sports charity, the Invictus Games, which he will co-produce with his wife. He is also expecting his second baby with Markle this summer.
