Fans met the kind-hearted young boy Tanjiro in the anime's debut season. He used to live happily in the mountains together with his family.
Their ordinary lives then suddenly changed when a demon slaughtered all of them--except for Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko. Though his sibling is alive, she turns into a bloodthirsty monster.
Fortunately, her human qualities get the better of her demon nature, and she helps her brother face these demons. Tanjiro officially begins his training to become the elite swordsman, called Demon Slayer.
From here, he successfully finds a way to cure Nezuko, turning her into a human once again, but his sister is not the only one who needs saving. The people of Japan also need his help as the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji rapidly turns them into demons.
To fight off the evil, Tanjiro forms a team composed of Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. The leader of the Demon Slayer eventually sides with Tanjiro and they are now on their way to fight off the demons and put their species all down in "Demon Slayer" Season 2.
