According to Koreaboo, the South Korean star has been very meticulous when it comes to the character he is about to play. It is maybe why he is often part of big and hit productions since the very beginning.

Take a look at his breakout role in "Coffee Prince." Though this is his third lead role, it became a huge hit, taking the world by storm, thanks to its unique plot and stellar cast members.

It followed a cute romantic-comedy story of the coffee shop owner, Han Kyul (Gong Yoo), and the tomboy barista, Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye). The actor was only 28 at the time and many believed this project boosted his career and made him the superstar he is today.

Another project that he is best known for is "Goblin" or "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God." Many praised Gong Yoo for his incredible portrayal of the goblin Kim Shin that it even earned him a number of accolades.

This even brought the show to domestic and international success and became the fifth highest-ranked Korean drama in cable TV history. It even turned into a big phenomenon in South Korea, giving the "Silenced" star another wave of success.

Now that Gong Yoo has become a big star both on TV and in movies, does it change his approach to the work he is about to do next? In an interview with Marie Claire, via Soompi, he talked about his work ethics as he graced the cover of the magazine's October issue.

The "Seobok" star admitted his priorities had now changed after his 20s and 30s. "The source of strength that drives me as an actor is changing," he said.

He revealed he used to worry about how his character would look like and how to act in his role. Now, he would usually spend more time thinking what kind of impact he could have on a particular project, on other characters and if his energy would be perfectly conveyed.

For him, the project's overall message is now more important in every role that he would choose. Gong Yoo is now more interested in what the producers want to deliver through the project and the statement they intend to make.
