The 2021 Mnet Music Awards (MAMA) is now preparing for its upcoming big event on Saturday, Dec. 11. As part of the preparation, the prestigious awards announced its official line-up of presenters, led by Song Joong-ki, on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

Gabee, Kwon Yool, Kim Seo-hyung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Hye-yoon, Nam Yoon-su, Noh Hong-chul, Monika and Rain will join Song Joon-ki as the 2021 MAMA presenters. It also includes Ahn Bo-hyun, Uhm Jung-hwa, Yeo Jin-goo, Lee Do-hyun, Lee Sun-bin, Jo Bo-ah, Jo Jung-suk, Sooyoung, Choi Siwon, Tiffany, HaHa, Han Ye-ri and Hero Sung-tae.

This year's presenters feature a diverse line-up of musicians, actors, dancers and comedians. These artists will be presenting the awards to all the winners at the ceremony, Soompi noted.

Of course, the event will also have a line-up of artists that will perform, like aespa, ATEEZ, Brave Girls, ENHYPEN, INI, ITZY, JANNABI, JO1 and NCT 127. Fans will also see NCT DREAM taking the stage, as well as NCT U, Stray Kids, TXT, Wanna One, the "Street Woman Fighter" dance crews and the international star, Ed Sheeran.

Meanwhile, the 2021 MAMA host Lee Hyori will take center stage with the "Street Woman Fighter" dancers. The event even confirmed the news, saying the singer would be performing with the eight dance crews.

There will be a lot of firsts for the 42-year-old star at the award's night. Aside from being the first female artist to host the revamped show, it will also be her first time to perform on its stage.

To recall, the last time she performed here was when it was still called MKMF with the K-pop group BIGBANG in 2008. Meanwhile, talking about K-pop global sensation, BTS will not be performing at the 2021 MAMA.

A source revealed to Sports Donga on Dec. 2 that the boys were in talks to grace the event, but they could not do so. Due to their busy schedule, they would find it hard to film a performance video, though they were said to be preparing for a short clip for their fans.

Their absence, reportedly, had something to do with the new Omicron COVID-19 variant, forcing the South Korean government to put stricter restrictions on people who would enter the country. From Dec. 3 onward, anyone who would arrive in South Korea had to undergo self-quarantine for 10 days regardless of their vaccination status.

As BTS just came from Los Angeles in the United States and would perform at the 2021 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, they could not make it on the 2021 MAMA on Dec. 11 as they still had to go self-quarantine. The event would start at 6 p.m. KST and be streamed worldwide.
