Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, reportedly, have a master plan, and Kate Middleton and Prince William are both aware of it. So, a brand and reputation management expert believes the Cambridges are planning to counter the Sussexes' move by "taking a leaf out of their book."
Allegedly, the future king and queen consort will also try to engage with the younger generations and touch the issues they deeply care about. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge may have already started this move when he gave an interview to the American magazine People about his Earthshot Prize.
Eric Schiffer told Express Prince William and Kate are "highly aware" of the strategic master plan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are following. This alleged scheme is now working in the U.S. and worldwide, gaining massive attention.
With that said, Schiffer believes it shall be a warning shot to the senior royals about their "own authority and soft power" at this point. So, the two may start to work harder to connect with the younger generation-not just in the U.S. but also in the U.K. and around the world.
They may focus on the issues about the environment and equality, which Prince William may talk about more in the future. He may also try to understand and tune into this generations' sensitivities.
So, what is this master plan that Prince Harry and Meghan have? Schiffer said it is to connect with the younger generations. They, allegedly, plan to be the royals of the world and may have done it through "acts of benevolence and leadership" close to the values and desires of Gen Z and Millennials.
As a part of this strategy, they are said to be eyeing to dominate the headlines and be more relevant than the royal family. Schiffer even enlisted a number of causes Prince Harry and Meghan had publicly supported so far to back up this claim, per Cheat Sheet.
This includes issues about race and equality, which Prince Harry brushed on when he discussed his own experience with racism after meeting his wife. Alternatively, the former actress personally contacted a couple of U.S. senators to ask for support for federal paid parental leave.
In addition, Prince Harry and Meghan are also known as keen supporters of climate change advocacies, gender equality, vaccine equity and mental health awareness, which are also important topics for the younger generation.
