"World Trigger" will be on a month-long hiatus due to its creator's, Daisuke Ashihara, health problem. So, what will happen in the series and to Squad 7?
Long breaks seem common to manga series nowadays due to the alleged exploitation the mangakas are suffering. Sadly, "World Trigger" now joins the list, making fans worried not just for Ashihara but also the series' future.
The truth behind the manga industry is now getting apparent. With the deadlines and pressure the authors and artists experience, it often results in a number of health problems and disorders.
Shueisha's Jump SQ magazine confirmed the series would not be part of its February issue, which would be out on Jan. 4, and on a break for a month. The publication apologized for the delay, revealing it was due to the author's "poor physical condition."
However, it promised the manga would return as part of its March oversized issue, coming out on Feb. 4. It would be back to serialization after a month.
Epic Dope noted "World Trigger" is now going through the Expedition Selection Exam arc. Here, the squads have joined and competed against each other in The Away Mission Test.
Squad 7 is now planning to make a huge comeback after suffering a heavy loss. All the teams have received the second special assignment in Chapter 217, so will the group manage to redeem themselves this time or will they suffer again?
Suwa has a good plan for Squad 7 and they may put up a good fight this time in "World Trigger" Chapter 218, per The News Fetcher. This means fans have to wait and see what they have up in their sleeves against the other teams.
Talking about the special assignment, it may disorient the members, resulting in losing their focus on the game. The deadline also adds more pressure for them, but Osamu may have something that can help his team win.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time the manga has taken a break. For starters, it also went on hiatus in March, May and November this year. Though it just returned in serialization after its break last month, it would once again go on hiatus.
"World Trigger" debuted in Weekly Shone Jump magazine in 2013 and took a break after three years due to Ashihara's health problem, Anime News Network cited. It returned in serialization in 2018 and it recently shipped its 24th volume on Dec. 3.
