The New Year may only be starting, but BTS is already setting new records this early. As 2022 begins, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook dominate the music charts worldwide and more.

Sure, it may be impossible to make new records during the start of the year, but we are talking about BTS. This group will never be called a global phenomenon for nothing and they are expected to conquer the music scene here and abroad continuously.

Let's start with the septet's second compilation Japanese-language album, "BTS, The Best." This LP has already surpassed 1 million copies on the Oricon Japan chart as of Jan. 6-the first time a K-pop idol group album has sold that much. They follow the record BoA made in 2005 and Queen did in 2004, AllKpop noted.

The next one is the group's English-language megahit song "Dynamite." The track has been part of Spotify Global Chart for 500 consecutive days as of Jan. 5-the only song by a Korean and Asian act to do so.

Today, "Dynamite" still ranks at No. 71 with more than 1.1 million filtered streams. It is another feat for the longest-running Korean song in the chart's history.

In addition, BTS has reached a new peak of monthly listeners on Spotify with a whopping over 45 million. So far, they have remained the Korean act and the K-pop idol group with the highest peak of monthly listeners on the app.

In fact, Suga alone has 11.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify after the release "Girl of My Dream" in collaboration with Juice WRLD. Also known as August D, he has remained the fifth Korean act with the most monthly listeners on the music streaming site.

Meanwhile, V started the year right with his "Christmas Tree" OST, making new records everywhere. He topped "The Holidays Digital Song Sales Chart" and even debuted at "Holidays Billboard Chart" at No. 55, making him the first Korean act to do so in history.

He became the highest-ranking Korean soloist in Canadian Digital Song Sales, debuting at No. 2. He was also the first Korean OST to chart in the Canada Billboard chart at No. 82. In the U.K., "Christmas Tree" debuted at No. 1 on Euro Digital Songs Sales Chart-the first Korean Soloist's song to make it on top.

Lastly, Jimin has made several achievements and records at the start of 2022 after recording new music on KDOL. He came out as the first in the daily ranking vote, putting him on the top of the weekly and monthly rankings on the platform.
