By the looks of it, "Dr. Stone" Chapter 228 will finally unveil the real identity of Why-Man. There may be a flashback of its history before the big reveal happens.

It will also reveal the mystery surrounding the dark stain on the moon. There are theories Why-Man is an A.I. installed on a supercomputer that works on solar energy.
As the series showed that the flag Neil Armstrong raised on the moon in 1969 is still intact, a high-tech device in outer space may last that long. Senku may put the grenade net launcher to good use now that the medusa is gone.
Meanwhile, in "Dr. Stone" Chapter 227, Senku, Kohaku and Stanley finally put their first steps on the moon to confront Why-Man. Stanley was worried that they only had grenade net launchers as a weapon back on earth.
Senku couldn't help but think of their journey when they finally landed on the moon. He, then, directly went to the black stain they spotted on the moon's satellite images.
They brought the medusa device with them to use whenever needed. It was kept in a vacuum tube with a mic attached to it.
Later, Kohaku received an instruction to open the vacuum tube. However, she was surprised to see a different and polite Senku, so she gladly opened the seal.
It was, then, revealed that Why-Man was imitating Senku's voice frequency to petrify the group. Senku came in and stopped Kohaku from activating the device.
Left with no option, Kohaku tossed the device up in the sky, but its range still covered them. What happens from here can be seen when "Dr. Stone" Chapter 228 drops on Sunday, Feb. 6.
