Fans will finally witness the end of "Black Clover" anime in a movie format after its sudden ending last year without any proper conclusion. Thankfully, the franchise has finally dropped a new update about the much-awaited anime film. However, it will still take a while before it finally hits the big screen.

Weekly Shone Jump Issue No. 15 revealed the "Black Clover" anime movie would be out in 2023. Though it will probably take a year before Asta's story gets a proper ending, anime and manga fans are now all looking forward to witnessing what is about to happen.

Epic Dope noted Japan fans would not be the only ones who could watch what would happen to the series. Since Funimation and Crunchyroll both get the license to stream the series, they may also get the pass to release it to the western countries after its premiere in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Some who worry about the film's character designs and acts do not have to, as Yuki Tabata himself, the manga's creator, supervises the whole movie and takes charge of the major turn of events. This just means he can keep the film's filler content in check, just like what fans want.

For starters, the anime ended with Episode 170, which featured Liebe's backstory. It revealed how Asta's mother tried to save him and got killed after.

As she was also like a real mom to him, Asta and Liebe decided to fight together to avenge her death. So in the "Black Clover" movie, these two will learn how to use Devil Union modes and go training with Nacht.

Meanwhile, although the title is one of the most popular anime and manga series of its time, this is the first time it will be adapted into a movie, per Coming Soon. The franchise has been running for more than seven years and things are getting pretty intense in both the manga and the anime.

The manga started to serialize in 2015 and instantly became a smash hit when it launched. The anime, alternatively, premiered in 2017 and featured 170 episodes that ended in March 2021.

It became one of the most popular anime series of the 2010s, so many were left brokenhearted when it suddenly ended. So far, all the major details about the movie is kept under lock and key, but people behind the production are said to "keep things closer to the vest."

However, rumors have it the film will end with the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, which the anime itself was working on before it concluded. With that said, the "Black Clover" movie is expected to be one of the biggest box-office releases coming in 2023.
