A lot has happened in "One-Punch Man" Chapter 161. Aside from trying to make Garou realize he's a hero and not a monster, it also shows a new side of Saitama.

Garou displayed new monstrous power and abilities in "One-Punch Man" Chapter 161. But instead of making everyone afraid of him, he ended up saving others without him knowing, proving he was a hero at heart.

Fans finally witnessed the much-awaited fight between Garou and Saitama. Garou transformed into a more monstrous state, but he still felt frustrated seeing Saitama's incredible strength.

Comicbook noted Saitama worked hard to know what made Garou consider himself a monster despite showing outright heroism. As Garou tried hard to be evil, he still ended up showing his good side.

So in "One-Punch Man" Chapter 161, Saitama asked Garou about his end goal. It couldn't be denied that Garou had worked with the heroes, making Saitama puzzled as to why he categorized himself as a monster despite the good he had done for kids like Tareo.

Despite Saitama's effort to remind him of his goodness, Garou refused to relent. Instead, he kept showing his monstrous techniques, though Caped Baldy effortlessly dodged them all.

In fact, the more they fought, the more Garou ended up helping innocent people. He just freed people trapped under a building when he destroyed it and everyone thanked him.

He also saved people below a volcano when he slammed Saitama into it. Saitama once again stressed the goodness of Garou, making it the former's goal to bring out the best in him and turn him into a hero.

However, it looked like he had to be defeated to stop his monsterization and make him realize the good in him.

Saitama complimented Garou and even compared him to King as the chapter ended. He said they were both helping others though it wasn't their intention to do so, per CBR.

Fans had known Saitama for being emotionless, but he showed his different side this time. Though he still mocked him, his giving a pep talk to Garou gave his character "another level of humanity."

With that said, Garou and Saitama's fight featured a lot of surprises, especially on this unseen side of the story's protagonist. It might be another threat to the world, though this new revelation in "One-Punch Man" Chapter 161 about Saitama came out at Garo's expense.
