Seo Ye Ji's new K-drama "Eve" receives mixed reactions from fans due to its rated R scenes. However, tvN continues to promote the series and its upcoming episode once again gets a one-time rating of 19+.
"Eve" is Seo Ye Ji's first comeback TV project after the controversy involving her ex-boyfriend, Kim Jyung Hyun. So far, the show has dropped two episodes and they both have a one-time rating of 19+.
The show follows the story of Lee La El, a woman who has devoted her life to avenging her parents. Its first two episodes featured the "intercourse scenes" between the lead star herself, Lee Ha Yool, Park Byeong Eun and Yoo Su.
Though the overall series received a rating of 15+, AllKpop noted the first and second episodes faced mixed reactions from the viewers. In fact, according to recent media reports, the upcoming fourth episode also got a one-time rating of 19+.
Meanwhile, tvN has dropped a behind-the-scenes look at the series' first two episodes. The clip started with Lee La El's (Seo Ye Ji) appearance at a party as she started to take her revenge.
She met up with Kang Yoon Kyum (Park Byung Eun), who rehearsed his lines by asking if she knew how to play the bandoneon, an instrument like an accordion. Soompi reported the 32-year-old actress learned how to play like a skilled musician from a professional before the filming began.
Park Byeun Eun, alternatively, learned the tango. While the show's staff and crew surrounded the room, the actor practiced his dance steps.
He stopped once after completing a spin and put his hands to his head, feeling a little dizzy. He then began to make exciting gestures after receiving approval from the professional dancer on set.
In the next scene, Han So Ran (Yoo Sun), the sophisticated wife of Kang Yoon Kyum, was seen on the stairwell. The 46-year-old star is far different from her character.
In "Eve," she's cold and arrogant, but she loves to laugh and all smiles in real life. She also plays an acting coach in the show and in one scene, she's teaching a child how to express fear in his eyes.
Elsewhere, Jung Hae Kyun, who plays Kim Jung Chul, was seen eating a snack while filming an important scene with Lee La El's dad. Lee Sang Yeob, who portrays Seo Eun Pyeon's character, then arrived on set and picked up a pipe as if he was about to use it for a fight scene.
However, the director told him, "Don't come holding that," making him apologize and setting it down. He then started to rehearse his scene and said, "I'm tired," in front of the camera.
"Eve" airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 p.m. KST on tvN.
