Just last month, G-Dragon stunned everyone when news emerged that he had purchased one of the most expensive penthouses in Korea. With that said, how wealthy the famed rapper is?
The 33-year-old idol surprised fans when he posted a photo of the car's seat belt on his Instagram Story, along with a smaller picture of the vehicle where he seemed to be sitting on the hood.
AllKpop noted that a netizen revealed that only two Bugatti Chiron were imported into the country and the singer-songwriter already now owned one. The vehicle reportedly has a price tag of $2.5 million and this comes after he bought a Nine One Hannam penthouse in Yongsan-gu Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for a whopping 16.4 billion KRW or $13.1 million.
The said amount has reportedly set a new high for the sale price of an apartment in the country this year. A court register noted on June 3 that G-Dragon purchased the 2,624-square-foot home at the end of March.
According to reports, the hitmaker paid the house in cash and it's only one of the six households in the country with the same amount. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's real transaction price disclosure system noted that the highest price for an apartment was The Penthouse Cheongdam in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 14.5 billion KRW.
The Penthouse Cheongdam was ranked first in public housing prices for 16.89 billion KRW this year. However, the sale price of G-Dragon's Nine One Hannam penthouse reportedly dethroned The Penthouse Cheongdam as the most expensive apartment in the country as it was said to be 1.9 billion KRW pricier than it.
So, how could the K-pop star afford those purchases? Scoop Whoop noted him as one of the wealthiest idols in the industry, in line with the likes of Psy, BTS's J-Hope and more.
Despite leaving the K-pop scene in 2017, he remains one of the most famous K-pop artists, with a net worth of about $55 million.
